13. Increase the access to interventions to prevent and manage non-communicable diseases and their risk factors

The Health Strategy intends to increase access to interventions to prevent and manage non-communicable diseases and their risk factors, in order to reduce the burden of chronic non- communicable diseases to Bermuda.

Achievements to date include the introduction of benefits to manage chronic diseases for better outcomes and lower costs, in particular:

In addition the Office of the Chief Medical Officer has started piloting of a chronic disease register, beginning with diabetes.
