This is a brief update as of the latest intermediate 9pm NHC advisory #35A.
· Hurricane Nicole has now intensified into a category 3 hurricane (sustained winds of 100kts with gusts to 120kts)
· It has a well-defined eye, around 30nm wide as of last check
· Latest forecast sees Nicole only beginning to weaken to a strong category 2 hurricane as it moves into our area
A more detailed update, with updated wind timings (including onset and cessation table), will be emailed out soon after the full midnight NHC advisory.
