Town Hall Meeting: Minimum/Living Wage

The Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports the Hon. Lovitta Foggo JP, MP, invites you to attend any of the following Town Hall Meetings to discuss a Minimum/Living Wage for Bermuda.

The Town Hall Meetings will take place:

  • Thursday, 2 May, 2019 – St. George’s Cricket Club at 6.30 p.m.

  • Thursday, 9 May, 2019 – St. Paul's AME Centennial Hall at 6.30 p.m.

  • Thursday, 16 May, 2019 – Somerset Cricket Club at 6.30 p.m.

Colleagues you will recall that Minister Foggo recently announced that the Government is seeking to set up a Wage Commission to consult with key stakeholders regarding the establishment and implementation of a living/minimum wage. This follows the tabling of a report by the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee (JSC) last year on The Establishment of a Living/Minimum Wage Regime which listed the creation of a Wage Commission as one of its recommendations. You are encouraged to attend any of the upcoming public meetings and provide your comments and feedback.
