CONSENSUS 2024

The Premier and Minister of Finance, the Hon. David Burt, JP. MP., led a Bermuda delegation to Austin, Texas on 28th May, 2024, to participate in the world's largest gathering of digital asset, blockchain and Web3 enthusiasts. Bermuda has attended this event since 2018. The Bermuda delegation comprised representatives from the Government of Bermuda, the Bermuda Monetary Authority, the Bermuda Business Development Agency, local law firms, and the digital finance industry. The Premier and delegation attended a number of sessions and held business development meetings with industry leaders, stakeholders, regulators and lawmakers. The Premier also took part in a live discussion of "First Movers" on Coindesk TV, where he highlighted the progress that Bermuda has made since first attending Consensus in 2018. The Premier and Bermuda delegation also hosted guests at a Bermuda Reception on 30th May, 2024. Finally, this trip has yielded additional applications for Digital Asset business for licensing by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
