Meeting with American Airlines Executives

The Hon Owen K Darrell, JP MP, Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport attended a meeting with executive representatives from American Airlines at its headquarters in Dallas Fort Worth. The Minister was accompanied by the CEO of the Bermuda Airport Authority, The Acting CEO and the Acting Chair of the Bermuda Tourism Authority as well as the President of Skyport. The discussions were particularly important in anticipation of the reopening of the Fairmont Southampton in 2026 and anticipated increase in demand. Current routes serviced by American Airlines include JFK, CLT, DCA and MIA, and the meeting explored opportunities to increase frequency during the meeting. A strengthening of communication channels and other initiatives for improved services are expected outcomes from the meeting.
