Department of Education Announces Digital Platform for 2026 - 2027 Substitute Teacher Intake

The Department of Education today announced the launch of a new online Substitute Application Platform designed to streamline recruitment, protect applicant data, and ensure payroll accuracy for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic school year.

The new portal opened Friday, July 17, marking the official conclusion of legacy, paper-based application methods for the Department.

All current and aspiring substitute teachers interested in opportunities with Bermuda Public Schools will be required to create a secure online profile, upload required credentials digitally, and track their electronic onboarding steps in real-time.

To prevent technical processing delays, the Department encourages all substitute educators and prospective applicants to proactively prepare their digital files, including valid BEC licensing, academic qualifications, banking details, and identification, so they are ready to apply immediately upon the platform's launch.

For a complete checklist of required preparation documents, please visit the Department of Education website at www.moed.bm/substitutes.
