Gilbert Institute Closed for Remainder of the Day

The Department of Education is advising that Gilbert Institute has closed today, 24 September.

The decision to dismiss students for the day was made after a power outage at the facility.

Department of Education staff are working closely with BELCO to confirm a timeline for repairs.

The school Principal, staff, as well as parents, have been informed of the closure. The school  has executed protocols to dismiss students under the direction of the Department of Education.
