Judicial appointments

The Governor, Mr George Fergusson, has today announced the appointment of Sir Christopher Clarke as a new Justice to the Court of Appeal of Bermuda with effect from 6 March 2017. 

Mr Fergusson said:  “I am very pleased to announce Sir Christopher Clarke’s appointment to Bermuda’s Court of Appeal following the recommendation of the Judicial & Legal Services Committee.  It is good to see such a distinguished lawyer join the Appeals Court.  Bermuda is fortunate in being able to attract such high level jurists to maintain the quality of its courts, providing a level of service at the highest possible level both for the people of Bermuda and international business.

In Sir Christopher Clarke, the Court will be gaining someone with a background in both commercial and criminal law.”
