Junior Athlete Sponsorship Awards

Later today (May 12), the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Sen. the Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP, will present the National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Programme Awards (NJASPA) to several deserving young people who have demonstrated sports excellence over the past year.

Minister Darrell said, “These young athletes have demonstrated tremendous potential in their chosen sports. With the assistance of the Government, the people of Bermuda, their families, coaches and National sporting Governing Bodies, we are confident they will represent our country with dignity. We must continue to invest and support our junior athletes so that you become the next generation of elite sporting talent in Bermuda. I take this opportunity to congratulate all our 2023 National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Programme recipients.”

This year, for the second time, a Bermudian athlete will be presented with the Flora Duffy Award to assist them in their sporting pursuits.

The NJASPA ceremony gets underway 6.00 p.m. at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
