Labour Day Garbage Collection and Recycling Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works is advising that due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday, 4 September, household waste collection will follow a rollover to the next day's schedule.

As a result, Monday's waste collections will roll over to Tuesday with this schedule continuing through the week ending with Friday's waste being collected on Saturday.

Tin, aluminium and glass recycling (TAG recycling) will be unaffected by Monday's holiday, with West End recycling collected on Thursday, 7 September, and East End recyclables collected on Friday, 8 September.

The Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off will be open for drivers of private cars, L and LP vehicles to dispose of a maximum of four bags of regular waste and other waste items from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Monday holiday.

Visit the Government’s garbage and recycling page for more waste management information.
