Large Group Exemptions

The public is advised that the oversight of approving large group gathering exemptions is now the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport.

Currently under the guidelines, the maximum number of people allowed to gather is 100 persons.

Requests for group gatherings larger than 100 people must be applied for through the online form to the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport. Applications must be complete and provide detailed protocols for Covid-safety.

Applications can be made online via the following link: https://forms.gov.bm/Exemption-for-Large-Gatherings

Prospective applicants should note that the online application form is currently being updated to expedite processing. The new form will be in effect by 28th June 2021. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to defer submitting applications until that date as the process will be clearer and faster.

Minister Peets said, “While we are able to consider applications for large group exemptions, I remind the public that Bermuda and the world are still experiencing a pandemic and the risks associated with Covid-19 remain a reality. We will consider all applications, but remind the public that public health guidance must be followed, maintaining the 3 C’s: avoid closed spaces, crowded places and close contact.”

As a note large group exemption approvals has moved from the Ministry of National Security, as the resources of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation Team will be focused on hurricane season preparedness and overseeing the seven approved quarantine sites.
