Minister Caines Condemns Local ‘Drill’ Music Video Promoting Violence

The Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Caines, JP, MP, said, “I am sure many people have seen the ‘Drill’ music video on social media, depicting young men promoting violence towards members of the Bermuda Judiciary, Police Service and Department of Public Prosecutions. This video is reprehensible and should be denounced by all right-thinking Bermudians.

There comes a time in society where we must collectively rise up and show our disdain for such behaviour. These young men must not be given safe harbour in our community. We must rise and stand against this awful and deplorable act.

The young man who made this video has been reprimanded in police custody. All remaining persons must be held accountable for their actions.

I encourage anyone with information to help identify the individuals appearing or involved in the production of this video, to contact the police on 247-1744.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 or submit tips at www.crimestoppers.bm.”
