Minister Weeks Urges Responsible Behaviour and Celebration During National Heroes Day Weekend

"National Heroes Day is a time to honour the heroes who have shaped Bermuda into the vibrant and thriving Island that we are today. Let us celebrate responsibly, showing respect for one another and our community," said Minister of National Security Michael Weeks, JP, MP, ahead of the upcoming holiday weekend.

National Heroes Day weekend is a time of reflection, unity, and celebration as we commemorate the outstanding contributions of our heroes who have shaped our Island's history and inspired generations to come.

Minister Michael Weeks emphasises the importance of responsible behaviour during this festive period.

In line with this sentiment, the Ministry of National Security urges all residents and visitors to refrain from drinking and driving.

He added: "Designate a sober driver, take advantage of public transportation or use ride-sharing services to ensure that our roads remain safe and free from the dangers of impaired driving. Everyone who plans to be out on the water during the weekend should also exercise caution.”

The Minister encourages the public to enjoy the numerous celebratory events and activities taking place throughout the weekend.

Minister Weeks concludes, "I encourage everyone to play their part in ensuring that we have an incident-free weekend with lots of positive memories."
