Primary School Open House and Registration Dates

The Department of Education wishes to advise parents and guardians that registration for students who are eligible to enter  Primary 1 (P1)  in September 2020 will take place on February 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2020. These dates have been adjusted from the original timelines shared in November 2019 to accommodate ongoing discussions with school leaders on matters related to school enrollment.

Primary schools will hold an Open House on one or more days during February 17th, 18th and 19th, 2020. 

A schedule of school Open House dates will be provided in due course.

Parents are strongly encouraged to attend Open House to gain firsthand information and insights about our primary schools. 

The Department also recognizes that informal school and community conversations have taken place in relation to the implementation of a Foundation (Reception) Year for September 2020.  "We can advise that a Foundation Year will not be implemented in September 2020."
