Statement from Premier David Burt

"We are all hurting," said the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, today after the shooting death of two men in the West End.

"These recent tragedies have struck families, friends, communities and the entire Island.

"The grief can seem overwhelming, but we must continue to have hope and summon the strength to reach inside ourselves, supporting each other and those directly impacted by such devastating circumstances.

"With the losses suffered by families and communities, more than ever we must turn to support systems that exist - counselling, faith leaders and other services that provide comfort and a means to understand and process what has happened.

"Tomorrow, I look forward to speaking directly to the people of Bermuda as we seek to reassure the community and emphasize a message of reassurance and peace."
