Flora Duffy Mural Nearing Completion

The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport advised today that the Flora Duffy mural is close to complete.

A Ministry spokesperson said, “The vibrant artwork, which highlights all the various stages of Ms. Duffy’s Olympic gold medal achievement, is located on the Church Street side of the General Post Office (GPO) building in Hamilton.

“Entitled Unfolding Flora Duffy, the “Pop Art” style mural was created by local artists Kendra Earls and Shanna Hollis. Minister Peets who recently visited the site of the mural to assess its progress notes that a formal recognition event of the piece will be held on March 26, 2022. The Flora Duffy mural is in keeping with the Department of Culture’s art in and on public buildings initiative and aims to highlight the talents of local artists.”
